You will need your UFID and UF email address. A mistake in your UFID may result in having to complete a new form.

Only a UF student may submit a petition. Petitions submitted by someone other than a UF student will be denied.

Petitioning a Loss of Financial Aid

*This petition does not offer scholarships.

Complete this petition if you:

• • Have an issue with Satisfactory Academic Progress
  • Lost a UF Scholarship such as the Presidential Scholarship
  • Lost a state scholarship such as Bright Futures or the Machen Florida Opportunity Scholarship

  Special Circumstances Petitions

  Budget Increase Form

  This petition compares your cost of attendance to your actual expenses to adjust for differences for items such as: (Expenses must be paid by the student to be reviewed.)

  • • Tuition and Fees
    • Housing and Utilities
    • Health/Dental Insurance
    • Childcare

    Undergraduate, Graduate and Professional will be reviewed after drop/add each term.

    The Colleges of Medicine, Law, Veterinary Medicine, Dentistry and Pharmacy will be reviewed within 7-10 business days due to their differing semester start and end dates.

    Petitions for a review of multiple students in college must complete the Sibling In College Enrollment Review form for each additional student and submit it with the 24-25 Financial Aid Revision Petition.

    Dependency Override Appeal/Petition

    If you are experiencing one of the following or something not listed below, please complete the Dependency Override Petition so we can review your unusual circumstances to determine if you should be “Independent” on the FAFSA.

    • Documented abandonment
    • Parental drug use
    • Parental mental incapacity
    • Physical or emotional abuse
    • Severe estrangement from parents
    • Parental Incarceration
    • Homeless or At Risk of Being Homeless

    The following DO NOT warrant a Dependency Override according to federal law:

    • Parents refuse to provide information on the FAFSA application or for verification.
    • Parents do not claim student as a dependent for income tax purposes.
    • Student demonstrates self-sufficiency.
